2007 POINTS SYSTEM
The points will be
awarded in the following manner.
ENTRY 1 POINT -
POINTS PER ROUND 1 POINT – BONUS POINTS FOR WIN 2
Example: if a racer
should win a 4 round race, the driver would receive the following points,
ENTRY 1 POINT = 4
ROUNDS 4 POINTS + WINNER OF CLASS 2 POINTS + TOTAL 7 POINTS

SUMMIT ET RACING SERIES - NHRA JR DRAG RACING SERIES
- NHRA STREET LEGAL SERIES
• Entry is defined
as paying to compete, the driver is present, and the vehicle passes tech.
• Points cannot be
transferred from class to class, points will be earned only for the class
registered.
• There will be NO
team racing in any classes.
• If you break
before the first round of eliminations, you must notify the tower, in writing,
before you leave the facility. If you fail to do so you will lose your Entry
points for the night.
• Points will be
calculated by our Compulink Timing System. It is
ultimately the competitors responsibility to insure the accuracy of all points
that are listed.
• Competitors may
at any time request in writing an audit of their points.
• Competitors must
purchase a permanent NHRA Competition Number & Membership before team
race.
• To be eligible
for yearend payouts you must be signed up for appropriate points series, and
have a registered number.
PIR Dragstrip E.T. SERIES will officially begin March 18, 2007 (Jr’s. March 25, 2007) and officially end Aug.15, 2007. In
the event of a rain out or a cancellation, the points
event will be rescheduled for the next race.
The PIRD LATE
NIGHT STREET LEGAL SERIES will officially begin March 3, 2007 and officially end Sept.
15, 2007.
All drivers are
required to pay a $15.00 registration fee which includes points
registration,
ETI or YTI tech inspection.

Enter points before
July 25, 2007 in tower before 1st round.
All ties that effect the team will be determined on or before

2007 POINTS
PROGRAM RULES
1.
Drivers
and vehicles must meet all NHRA standard rules.
2.
You
must be a member of PORTLAND INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY point’s program to earn
points.
3.
During
elimination’s you must dial within a tenth of your class breaks.
4.
The
PIR points season will begin March 18, 2007 and end
Aug. 15, 2007.
5.
Enrollment
for the 2007 Points Program is done in the tower at a cost of $15 per driver
(class).
6.
Drivers
are advised to purchase a NHRA Competition Number and NHRA membership. If a
driver chooses not to become a NHRA member, PIR will assign the driver a
permanent track number.
7.
All
car numbers, whether NHRA or PIR, shall be permanently displayed on the drivers
side of the car (legibly) in order to be easily read by the tower crew.
8.
A
driver may not drive more than one (1) car in the same eliminator.
9.
Transbrakes are only allowed in Super Pro, and Pro
classes.
10.
Mufflers
are required max 103db @ 50ft.
Cool Down Period – Our track officials will attempt
to provide adequate cool down time between rounds. However, due to many
constraints there may be a need to impose a shorter cool down period on a
case-by-case basis. All vehicles must be prepared to enter the staging lanes
and be ready to race within 10 minutes of the previous round unless otherwise
directed. It is recommended that all quarter-finalists, semi-finalists and
finalists return to the staging lanes immediately upon completing their run.
Please conduct all of your between round maintenance and cool down in the
lanes. Our track announcer will make an "on deck" call to inform drivers
that the need to get ready. We will then make a first call to the lanes, one
minute later a second call to the lanes will be made and one minute later a
last call will be made followed by the closing of the staging lanes.
