This tool kit was manufactured by the Borroughs Tool & Equipment Corp. The Borroughs Corp. produced most of the special service tools
for General Motors. This particular kit is the "1970 Essential Service
Tools For Oldsmobile" number BT-7002. The kit
includes a heated beaker (to be placed on a genuine asbestos pad!) for testing
thermostats, temperature sending units and ported vacuum switches. The kit also
includes a belt tension gauge (with Oldsmobile printed on it). And a
radiator/cooling system and rad. cap pressure tester.
Which would also serve as a tester for oil pressure sending
units.
And there you have what was considered
"essential" dealership tools in 1970!
