Camshafts

We offer an exact factory duplicate camshaft for all Cutlass, 4-4-2 and Hurst/Olds applications. Based on a brand new blank (NOT a regrind), our cams meet all factory specifications (lift, duration, valve timing, etc) as per original application. Camshafts listed with the same bank angle can be interchanged (regardless of engine size). Lifetime warranty. IMPORTANT - PLEASE NOTE: New lifters must be installed. Cam and lifters must be broken in an SF rated oil or with the zink substitute listed below as well as with the assembly lube listed below. All cams are made to order - please allow up to two weeks.

Factory Race Cam
This is a brand new duplicate of the factory 328/348 "cheater" cam used by several record holding 455" drag race stockers. Based on a 107 degree lobe centerline, this cam features 243 degree intake duration and 262 degree exhaust at .050". .475" valve lift. Very rough idle. Use with 4 speed, or automatic with 3500-4000 rpm stall converter and 4.10 or lower gears. This cam is just plain nasty sounding! Produces outstanding horsepower and torque to 6000 RPM. Will pass NHRA tech for stock eliminator. This is the same cam we use in our 67 4-4-2 Super Pro ET Bracket Car. 39 degree bank angle.

Cam and Lifter Assembly Lube.
This high pressure, moly-graphite assembly lube is required when installing new cam/lifters. Please note: Zink additive (Part Number 14-346) listed below must also be used for proper cam and lifter break-in.

Zink Additive
For emission reasons, most oil manufactures are reducing or eliminating Zink Dialkyl Dithio Phosphate from their domestic products. While this is fine for late model engines using roller lifters, but in our older flat tappet applications, the elimination of ZDDP will result in rapid and severe camshaft and lifter wear. It is critical that a new camshaft and lifers are broken in with oil containing ZDDP or the use of a bottle of zink additive. We also recommend ZDDPlus with each oil change.
